PLANS FOR HOWSIE
Start This Week Unlikely
“The Press" Special Service WELLINGTON, January 10
After Howsie’s outstanding performance to win the Konini Hack Handicap at the Pahiatua meeting on Saturday, the horse’s connexions said tnat it was unlikely he would take his place in the Camp Hack Handicap field at Trentham this week.
This is an event for apprentices, and Howsie is not an easy horse to manage. He will fulfil engagements on the later days of the Wellington fixture. Howsie has been the hack find of the Wellington district in the holiday period, winning the last three of his four races to date. A three-year-old by Howe from Adios, he is the most promising of his sire’s progeny to race in the district.
