Chantilly Wins
Twice

Chantlily won the Borough Trot Handicap convincingly at Kumara yesterday. The U. Scott filly began rlowly. out her driver, L. A. Williams, always appeared confident and in the straight Chantilly easily ran past Zulu Maid. Chantilly won by two lengths under a hard hold.
Sinbad and Zulu Maid began quickest, followed by Goodwood Girl, Maud Noble Rhua, and Chantilly. Zulu Maid had a lead of four lengths at the half mile from Sinbad, Goodwood Girl, Rhua, Chantilly. and Battle Hymn. Chantilly began to make up ground and soon had the issue in safe keeping. Zulu Maid was a length and a half in front of the backmarker. Battle Hymn, at the finish, with Rhua heading the others eight lengths back. Chantilly completed a double by winning the Diggers' Trot Handicap, although her margin on this occasion was only a head. Penalised 36 yards for her earlier success, Chantilly started from the back mark, with Battle Hymn. Both made good beginnings to be right up behind the field passing the stands, where Fancy That was leading from Sinbad. Little Flutter, Zulu Maid, Goodwood Girl, and Rhua. Fancy That was still leading with half a mile to travel, with Little Flutter, Goodwood Girl, Sinbad, Zulu Maid, Chantilly, and Battle Hvmn next.
Two furlongs from home. Little Flutter was just ahead of Chantilly, Fancy That, Battle Hymn, and Zulu Maia.
In the straight, Chantilly hit the front, and she looked to be in for a comfortable win when Fancy That threw out a late challenge, which failed by a head. . Hymn was two lengths awav m third place, and Zulu Maid was a little more than that distance back ln^ f 2S rth - Litt!e Flutter, Sinbad and Rhua were well back ahead of tne remainder.
