Airborne Water-Skier At Picton
(New Zealand Press Association) BLENHEIM, January 10. Thrills were provided at Picton today when competitors at the New Zealand water-ski-ing championships gave 7000 persons a demonstration of their skills. The most spectacular event of the day was the kite-ski run by V. Boric (Auckland). He took oft from the foreshore gripping a 12ft by 12ft kite being towed by a high-speed launch. Boric was soon airborne and soared 40ft up for a distance of about a mile. Next year’s championships will be held at Auckland.
