Snake Killed ByRabbit
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) SYDNEY, January 8. An angora rabbit killed a 4ft 6in brown snake at a home in Alectown, near Parkes, 277 miles from Sydney, but died soon afterwards.
The unusual battle came after the snake wriggled through the wire netting of a rabbit pen at the home of Mrs I. Townsend.
In the pen were the angora and a black rabbit. She said the black rabbit hid in a drum while lhe angora and the snake fought. The rabbit inflicted fatal bites and scratches on the body of the snake. It almost tore the reptile in a number of places. , The last of the fight had no sooner left the snake than the rabbit collapsed on the reptile’s body. The snake’s venom had taken its toll. .Rabbit fur was clogged on the fangs of the snake.
