Girls’ High School Hall In 1961
There is every possibility of providing an assembly hall for the Christchurch Girls’ High School in 1961. The Minister of Education (Mr Skoglund) told a deputation this when he visited the school yesterday. He attended the morning assembly and also told the girls of the possibility of the school having an assembly hall in 1961. Mr Skoglund said that the list of urgent priorities would come to an end in 1960 and if things went well the Christchurch Girls’ High School would be on the list for an assembly hall in 1961. Mr Skoglund was welcomed by Professor R. T. Sussex, chairman of the board of governors, who also headed the deputation and who spoke of the representations made over a long period to get an assembly hall for the school.
