MURALS IN NEW SCHOOL
Pupils To Design, Execute Work
(New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, Dec. 2. The design and execution of the wall murals and lino floors for the lobbies of the new extension at the Otago Girls’ High School will be carried out by the pupils, the architect. Mr I. R. McAllum, announced today. “I don’t believe there has been a project like this elsewhere in New Zealand,” he said. “The design and execution of murals for the lobbies will give the girls a personal interest in creating part of their environment. Children can produce a freshness of design that adults cannot achieve.” The work will be carried out under the supervision of Mr F. Dean, art master at the school, and Mr McAllum.
