PRECAUTIONS AT CORE
Firemen Sleeping In New Borough Offices (New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, Dec. 2. After being burnt out of its offices twice, the Gore Borough Council is taking no chances in its new premises. Until the automatic fire alarm system in the new building is connected to the fire station, two firemen are sleeping in what will be the town clerk’s office.
The council has built a spacious new 12,000 sq. ft office block. The fire alarm system is installed but at present it is only connected with an alarm bell on an outside wall.
