Rare Swordfish For Dominion Museum
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, December 1. A rare 10ft swordfish of the broadbill type, found at Palliser Bay during the week-end, is being prepared for a permanent place in the Dominion Museum. “There have been fewer than a dozen of this type of swordfish, the broadbill, taken or found in New Zealand in the last 100 years,” said the ichthyologist of the museum (Mr J. Moreland) today. “This may be the only specimen of its kind in a museum in the world.”
