MINERALS FROM HONG KONG
Iron Exported To Japan HONG KONG. Hong Kong is now in the Japanese mineral ores market, besides exporting small amounts of wolframite to the United States and South Africa and selling high-grade graphite to Japan, Taiwan and the United States. Figures released by the Mines Department showed that all the 30,000 long tons of iron ore produced during the second quarter of the year were exported to Japan. Other mineral ores production during the quarter included about 450 tons of feldspar, 350 tons of graphite, nearly 2000 tons of kaolin, 25 tons of lead ore. 1000 tons of quartz, and 15 tons of wolframite.—Heuter.
