Airline To Stay In Australian Hands
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) MELBOURNE, Dec. 1. Mr R. M. Ansett, managing director of Australia’s AnsettA.N.A. Airline, said last night that the airline would remain in Australian hands.
In no circumstances would “any interest of any size” be sold to an overseas company, he said. Mr Ansett was commenting on New York reports that the president of the Giant General Dynamics Corporation (Mr Frank Pace) wanted to obtain an interest in the airline.
Holding Company “Quite possibly we would consider selling an interest in the holding company of Ansett Transport Industries, Ltd.,” Mr Ansett said. “But the airline itself will continue to remain securely in the control of Australians.”
