CAR DESTROYED BY FIRE
Police Investigations On West Coast
A post-war light car was almost destroyed by fire near Rimu, on the Main South highway, on Sunday night.
At 10 p.m. Mr L. M. Birkett, a schoolteacher of Ruatapu, was returning home when his car broke down. Mr Birkett was picked up by a passing motorist and taken home.
Another motorist passing about 12.30 a.m. found the car almost totally destroyed. The police were notified.
