Yachting YACHTSMAN’S BAD LUCK
Two Boats Lost In Three Years (New Zeatan.a Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 23. The owner of two top New Zealand idlealong yachts in the last three years. Brian Cooper, of Petone. is convinced there is a jinx on his efforts to win the Wellington trials for the Moffat cup, the national idlealong championship. Three years ago, on the eve of the Wellington trials, his outstanding cupholder, Loraine, was burned to ashes. This week-end, his new Idlealong, modelled on Loraine and named Replica, was smashed nearly to pieces when it struck a rock north of Somes Island in a club race in the Wellington provincial trials to select next Saturday’s Moffat cup contender.
