COMMERCIAL Sharemarket Quiet But Firm At Opening
Markets were quiet when the Christchurch Stock Exchange opened the week’s trading yesterday. Most issues were traded at unaltered prices. Hay’s preference were firmer and Humes (N.Z.) preference eased. One parcel of Tekau rights sold at 7s Id, but most business was done at the steady price of 7s. * Andrews and Beaven shares and Whitcombe and Tombs shares each had buyers at prices 3d above previous business.
