Seeding Lists Announced

MELBOURNE. Nov. 23. The New South Wales tennis player, Jan Lehane, has been seeded third for the Victorian women's singles title in spite of her victory .against the world champion, Marla Bueno, In Sydney on Saturday. Miss Bueno and Christine Truman, who was beaten by Miss Lehane in Brisbane, have retained first and second seedings. But Miss Lehane’s brilliant form has lifted her above the Australian champion, Mrs Mary Reitano. The Davis Cup hero, Neale Fraser, has retained first seeding for the men's singles because of his defeat of Roy Emerson in the New South Wales final yesterday. Emerson probably would have displaced Fraser if he had repeated his Queensland success over the Victorian left-hander. The withdrawal of Rod Laver, who is suffering a shoulder injury, has boosted the Davis Cup player, Bob Mark, to fourth seeding. The titles begin at Kooyong on Thursday.
