ANTARCTIC TRIP OFF
Mr Nash Cancels Flight South l New Zeaiana Press Association; WELLINGTON, November 23. The Prime Minister (Mr Nash) has decided that he is unable at this time to visit the Antarctic, and he regrets he is not able to accept the offer of the commander of the United States Antarctic expedition, Rear-Admiral D. M. Tyree, to fly him to McMurdo Sound. Mr Nash said tonight that after careful consideration, he had come to the conclusion that his duties as Prime Minister would not permit him to leave the country again so soon after his four weeks’ absence on important international missions. The visit to the Antarctic would entail an absence of seven days, which he could not afford in present circumstances.
