LANDINGS AT CHATHAMS
Ban Placed On Flying Boats (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, November 20. A ban has been placed on the use of the alighting area in the Chatham Islands by flying-boats since an R.N.Z.A.F. Sunderland struck an uncharted reef, but two Sunderland flights will take about 20 children from New Zealand to the islands for the Christmas holidays and return them to New Zealand toward the end of January. The Government is considering the provision of a vessel to meet the urgent requirements of Chatham Islanders over the Christmas and holiday period.
