Low Production On Continent

With the low production of milk powders on the Continent, buyers on Continental account have been showing keen interest in the milk powder market in the United Kingdom, reports the London office of the Bank of New Zealand. Prices for full cream powder have advanced sharply, while those for skimmed powder remain very firm. Quotations are: Spray skimmed: New Zealand 90s to 92s a cwt ex store; Australiarv 90s to 92s ex store; English 91s to 93s delivered. Roller skimmed: New Zealand 89s, Australian 89s to 925, English 90s. Buttermilk: New Zealand spray 86s, roller 86s. England roller full cream is quoted at 220 s to 225 s delivered, and spray full cream at 2305.

Blocks.—The extraordinary meeting of shareholders in Vibrapac Blocks, Ltd., Christchurch, to consider the subdivision of the £1 shares into 10s shares will be held on December 16. “One reason for this proposal is to enable the shares to be more freely marketable upon the Stock Exchange," says a circular from the company. "The lower denomination of the shares at 10s par value should also have the ultimate effect of spreading holdings over a greater number of investors. Should the time come when the company needed additional capital, an appeal could then be made to a wider circle of members.”
