United Nations
Sir,—l notice that Sir Leslie Munro wishes to have the violence used in Hungary by the Soviet Union in its support of the Hungarian Communist Government discussed in United Nations. I should like him to bring up there also the question of his own government in New Zealand sending troops to help the Malayan Democratic Government kill off the remnants of Its own political opponents in the jungle. In both cases it is the use of violent means that is reprehensible. Helping one’s friends is a natural urge, but the help must be given in the right way. If one thing is clear today, it is that from now onwards the human race most do Its utmost to t eplace violence with humane discussion, permeated by the spirit or “each, for all wad all.fpr each.” -Yours, etc..
