FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—An anti-cyclone covering most of the Tasman Sea is moving towards the North Island, while a cold front from the south-west Tasman is approaching the south-west of the South Island. Forecast:— Westland, Buller and Nelson.—Light or moderate variable winds; fair weather; moderate day temperatures. Outlook: fair. Marlborough, except the Kaikoura coast.—North-west winds predominating, becoming fresh in exposed areas later; fair weather; moderate to mild day temperatures. Outlook: fair. Kaikoura coast and Canterbury.—Light or moderate variable winds, mainly north-easterlies on the coasts; fair weather; moderate day temperatures. Outlook: mainly fair.
