A PROBLEM FOR THE ELECTORS OF THE CITI OF CHRISTCHURCH.—A reproduction of a City Council votlns paper setting out the names of the 41 candidates for seats on the council. Printed at the top of the voting paper (but not shown in this reproduction) are direction to the voter. They read:—“(l.) Write the letter “X” in the square immediately after the names of the candidates for whom you wish to vote. (2.) You must not vote for more than nineteen candidates. (3.) After voting, fold up the voting paper so that its contents cannot be seen and place it in the ballot box provided. (4.) If you spoil this voting paper, you may return it to the officer who issued it and apply for a fresh one. (5.) This voting paper must not be taken out of the polling booth.” Other ballot papers issued to city electors will be for the Mayoralty, five seats on the Lyttelton 'Harbour Board, seven seats on the North Canterbury Hospital Board, and four seats on the North Canterbury Catchment Board.
