Soccer England Beats Ireland, 2-1

Pr«»» Association—Copvrfgat) LONDON, November ]» England beat Northern Irelawg 2-1, with a last-minute goal in a British international champion, ship soccer match this afternoon after leading 1-0 at half-time. England thus avenged their defeat by the Irish when thty last met at Wembley two yaan ago. The Irish, who shared th* championship title with Eagknd last year, have now lost all chare* of retaining it. A crowd of 60.000—small for Wembley—saw a very ordinary game which lacked sparkle end contained few flashes of ance. The only real thrills in the last three minutes when Ireland equalised and England scored again to win. The 19-year-old Liverpool-bora Scottish League player, J. Barker, was a distinct success as centra forward.
