P oultry-Keepers Ask For Control
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, November 12. The Auckland Provincial Association eff Registered Poultrykeepers tonight decided to ask the Government to control the present over-production of eggs. It proposed a ban on the increase of laying stock population above those housed from the 195859 rearing season. The meeting further decided that the Poultry Board take immediate action to introduce a licensing scheme for poultry farmers selling eggs. A vote of no confidence in the Poultry Board was lost, but an amendment protested at the board’s lack of a positive policy in the present over-production crisis.
