BURNSIDE HIGH SCHOOL
Parents Meet Staff About 250 parents of the foundation pupils who will attend the Burnside High School next year attended a meeting In the Fendalton Hall at which the headmaster (Mr C. Cross) and members of the staff replied to questions and gave advice. The chairman of the Christchurch Post-Primary Schools’ Council (Mr W. J. Cartwright) presided. There was a need for co-opera-tion from parents in all the school’s activities, said the headmaster, Mr Cross. Mr E. G. Brewster, the first assistant, and Miss N. D. Clark, the senior assistant mistress commented on the school’s uniforms, which were modelled by two of next year’s pupils. An interim parent-teacher association committee was elected as follows:—Messrs McCaw, Johnson, Firkin, Stinear, and Mrs Cross.
