FENDALTON ROADS LOAN

No objections having been received, the Waimairi County Council decided at a special meeting last evening to apply to the Local Authorities’ Loans Board for sanction to raise a works loan of £30,000 for roading in the Fendalton riding. Security for the repayment of the loan and interest will be a special rate of .096671 d in the £ on the rateable capital value of all properties in the riding. The works proposed are reconstruction and widening of 23 stretches of street in the Fendalton riding. The project is to strengthen shoulders and seal the streets right up to the side channels, thus widening the carriageway.
Streets on the list include Jacksons road, Snowdon road. Stratford street, Queens avenue, Garden road, Poynder avenue. Clifford avenue, Wairarapa terrace, Wai-iti terrace (east end), Taylors avenue, Glandovey road 'Strowan road to railway) Thorneycroft street, Harakeke street, Korari road, Royds street Kotare street, Weka street. Tui street, Roa road, Lothian street Otara street, and Chilcombe street.
Provided the Loans Board approves it is expected that work will be started about next Aprji
