“Test Fever”
Sir,—May I commend Mrs Thom’s delightful article, “Test Fever.” What we wives and mothers suffer in the cause of sport! The scenes she so clearly describes could be found in every detail in our predominantly male household, even to the interminable post-mortems and commentaries. While agreeing with Mrs Thorn that critket will be a pleasant change, I hasten to remind her that the original game of football is played in 80 minutes, but each game of cricket in the Plunket Shield series lasts for several days.
