Wage Increase

Sir.—The answers to Tom Bryce’s questions were given in my first letter on this subject. The Arbitration Court gave this wage increase, contrary to the great weight of evidence that it would jeopardise the economy of the country. Consequently it has failed in its duty and the personnel should be changed. Mr Bryce wff] perhaps remember that in a previous letter I stated that costs should be carefully scrutinised before approval to increase prices is granted. Will Mr Bryce please try to answer the question in my last letter? Otherwise one can only assume that he agrees the increase in wages was unfair to other sections of the community.—Yours, etc., REALISTIC. October 7, 1959.
