Scores In Queen’s Aggregate (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) SYDNEY, October 8.
Top scorer among the New Zealand riflemen competing in the first stage of the 1959 Queen’s Aggregate, which opened at the Anzac Rifle Range at suburban Liverpool yesterday, was A H. Linney, of Petone. He finished eleventh on the day with a score of 102. A. H. O’Donnell, also of Petone, scored a possible 35 with seven shots at 300 yards in the A. D Bridges shoot. The New Zealanders’ scores were: A. D. Bridges (seven shots at 300 yards): A. H. O’Donnell (Petone) 35, J. F. Girvan (Ashburton) 34, R. Kingsbury (Christchurchl 34, F. Soler (Wanganui) 34. A. Linney (Petone) 34. C. H. Cromack (seven shots at 500 yards): J. F. Girvan (Ashburton), F. Casey (Petone), A. H. O'Donnell (Petone). J. J. Bryant (Petone). F. J Black (Timaru), F. Soler (Wanganui), all 35. H. Kershaw (seven shots at 600 yards): A. H. Linney (Petone) 34, J F Girvan (Ashburton) 33.
Aggregates: A. H. Linney with 102, eleventh: J F. Girvan, 102, twenty-second; F. Soler, 101, fortieth: A. H. O’Donnell, 101, fortysixth; F. A. Casey, 98, fifty-ninth. The aggregate resulted in a tie between J. Freeman (Sydney) and W. Mitchell (Victoria), both with a score of 104 out of a possible 105.
