JAGUAR MODELS FOR 1960
rpHE range of Jaguar cars fir A 1960 has been revised and the now famous and much admired 2.4-litre and 3.4-litre saloons are to be joined by an even more luxurious version known as the 3.8-litre. It will have a limitedslip differential as standard equipment and will be known as the Mark II model.
The Jaguar XKISO and Mark IX saloons will continue unchanged next year, although the 150 model can be fitted with a 3.8-litre engine if owners desire it. This sports car will be the most powerful -ever produced by the company and one of the most powerful production cars in the world today. Simifar Exterior
Although they will retain the same exterior looks as the present 3.4-litre model, the new Mark II Jaguars will have important mechanical and coachwork changes. The whole of the front suspension has been revised for better roadholding and a long cantilever'spring is used at the rear in place of the usual semi-elliptics. Visibility is increased by more than 18 per cent., with greater wrapround of the windows. All of the Mark II models will
have disc brakes on all wheels, although they remain extras on the standard models.
This means that nine Jaguar models will be produced in i 960. They are:— Mark IX saloon: 2.4-litre standard: 2.4-litre Mark II; 3.4-litre standard; 3.4-litre Mark II; 3.8litre Mark II; 3.4-litre XKISO: 3.8-litre XKISO; 3.8-litre XKISO “S” with overdrive.
