N.Z. Artist To Go To Antarctica
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, Oct. 8.
Mr Don Neilson, of Wellington, who won a merit award in the Kelliher art competition last year, has been invited bv the American authorities to join the Antarctic expedition and will leave Christchurch early next week for the base at McMurdo Sound. Mr Neilson is the second New Zealand painter to be so honoured. Mr Peter Mclntyre also spent a period painting in the Antarctic.
