C.O.R.S.O. DRIVE FOR CLOTHES
Help Needed For Sorting
The record response to the C.0.R.5.0. clothing appeal has meant that extra help is needed at the Addington Show Grounds in the next fortnight to help sort and bale clothing to be sent overseas Anyone interested in giving assistance is asked to ring C.0.R.5.0 at 79-987. Voluntary workers have been busy for six days, and so far have packed 105 bales. It is expected that the final figure may reach 350 bales, compared with the 236 bales sent away last year. The Christchurch C.0.R.5.0 committee announced that the clothing given was of a high standard, and that it was a great help to find that so many Christchurch people firmly tied shoes together in pairs before sending them in. The clothes are sorted and packed each day from 9 a m. to 4.30 p.m., and are prepared for shipment on Monday to Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
