Women’s Cricket INTERPROVINCIAL COMPETITION
Plunket Shield Points System Adopted
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. October 4. The New Zealand Women’s Cricket Council decided at its annual meeting on Saturday to make the points for the Hally-burton-Johnston Shield the same as for the Plunket Shield. In future, 10 points will be awarded for an outright win, five for a win on the first innings, three for a tie,- two for a draw, and one point for averting an outright defeat after leading in the first innings and then losing outright. • The Hallyburton - Johnston Shield matches to be held in Wellington from December 20 to January 6 are: First round: Otago v. Wellington; Auckland v. Canterbury. Second round: Canterbury v. Otago; Auckland v. Wellington. Third round: Otago v. Auckland; Canterbury v. Wellington. Permission was granted for an Auckland team to visit Australia early next year. The team will play matches in Victoria. New South Wales, and possibly South Australia. Officers were elected as follows:—President, Dame Elizabeth Gilmour; chairman, Mrs J. G. Lamason; secretary. Miss J Stonell: treasurer, Mrs I. M Lamason: recording secretary. Mrs N. M. Potiki; management committee. Mesdames H. Poulter, D. Watt: advisory committee. Miss J. Hatcher. Mesdames J. B. Watson, M. J. Fulford.
