Driver Fined £20
After the Seafield Handicap at Ashburton on Saturday an objection was lodged against third place being awarded to Space King, driven by F. E. Newfield, on the grounds of interference to Takitimu and Smokeaway. It was found that Space King did cause interference, but as a result of the two horses affected finishing in front of the offender, it was decided to allow the placing to stand. Further it was found that Newfield was guilty of careless driving and he was fined £2O.
