LONDON. October 3. Wolverhampton Wanderers, the English football league champions, scored five goals against Luton today. and drew level with Tottenham Hotspur at the top of the first division Wolves, smarting under their midweek European Cup defeat in East Berlin, turned on their full power to thrill Luton's biggest crowd ol the season —22.908 The champions had four men out with injury, but they shrugged ofl the handicap and went on a goal spree. Tottenham Hotspur dropped a home point against Burnley, to give Wolves their chance to draw level. The Ireland-Scotland international match at Belfast robbed this match of four stars —three from Tottenham and one from Burnley—and they were sorely missed as both teams struggled to find their best form.
