Mercer’s Death “Accidental”
(N.Z Press Association—Copyright! LONDON, October 2. The Coroner inquiring into the death of the jockey Manny Mercer at Ascot on Saturday, today recorded a verdict of accidental death. The Coroner said that Mercer’s mount, Priddy Fair, had seemed to slip. Mercer was thrown on to the rails, where he was either crushed by the weight of the horse or kicked against the rails.
