MOTHERS’ UNION FESTIVAL

Services Held At Halswell More than 150 members of the Mothers’ Union attended services at St. Mary's, Halswell, during the Malvern Rural Deanery Mothers’ Unie-n festival. Holy Communion was celebrated in the morning by Archdeacon S. Woods. The Rev. R. W. Blair conducted the afternoon service, at which the Ven. Archdeacon E. A. Gowing gave the address.

Morning and afternoon tea were served in St. Mary's hall, which was beautifully decorated with magnolia, flowering elm, rhododendrons, freesias, and tulips. Mrs A. K. Warren (president of the Canterbury Diocese Mothers’ Union) and Mrs J. F. Robilliard (diocesan secretary) attended the festival.
