Messrs A. D. Askew, B. T. Rowling, L. A. Palmer, R. T. Eggers and J, E. Oldham, have been elected as producers’ representatives on the Hop Marketing Committee. Mr J. A. Kelliher, of the “Dominion;” Wellington, was elected president at the annual conference of the New Zealand Journalists’ Association in Auckland last evening. Mr B. W. Mills, of Wellington, is the retiring president.—(P.A.) Mr Linden Martin, of Dunedin, has been awarded a research fellowship at Stanton University, California, to carry out research in radio-wave propagation at the university’s special laboratory. The leader of New Zealand’s Antarctic expedition at Scott Base in 1958, Mr Martin has been with the New Zealand Broadcasting Service for 20 years, and is now regional engineer for Otago and Southland. He will leave Dunedin with his wife and family next week, and will be away from New Zealand for about 15 months.— (P.A.)
