W. Morris) said in his report to the council at its meeting last evening. Family Matter While submitting legal argument during the hearing of the mower dispute in the Supreme Court yesterday Mr R. A. Young found the name of “Adams” cropping up with surprising regularity in the authorities to which he referred. Remarking on the recurrence of this name, Mr Young observed that he had referred to a text book compiled by a legal author named “Adams,” and would later refer to a judgment of Mr Justice Adams, and a case in which one of the litigants bore this name. Mr Young was even more surprised when he learned that the litigant was in fact Mr Justice Adams, who is hearing the case. In a letter received in Palmerston North, Mr Skoglund, who is now in Perth, says that when he landed in Sydney, he had his first experience of television. “I was asked to make an appearance and say a few words, but as no fan mail has followed, apparently I made no great impression,” he wrote.— (P.A.)

In the past, school furniture had been designed on the basis of children’s measurements in Britain, but it was now felt that something “more desirable” should be designed for New Zealanders.
