The area specified above, over which the Closed Fire Season has not been declared, comprises, in the main, the built-up areas of the Papanui, Harewood, and Wairarapa Ridings, and the whole of the Fendalton and Middleton Ridings of the County. Residents in this area are not required to obtain fire permits, but all burning must be carried out in accordance with the Coun out in accordance with the County By-law. Copies of the By-law are obtainable from the County Office. Residents in that part of the County in which the Cloeed Fire Season is in force must obtain a WRITTEN fire permit for any burning in the open.
