PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the WaiiWairi County Council, acting in pursuance of the previsions of Section J 9 of the “Falsest and Rural Fires Act, 1955,” has declared a Closed Fire Season from the Ist October, 1959, to the 30th April. 1960, in the Walmairi County Fire District. This notice DOES NOT apply to the following part of the Waimairi County Fire District— All that area bounded as follows: Commencing at the intersection of Withells road and Yaldhurst road, thence northerly along Withells road to Avot> head road, thence westerly along Avonhead road to Wooldridge road, thence northerly along Wooldridge road to Wairakei road, thence easterly along Wairakei road to Breens road, thence northerly along Breens road to Gardiners road, thence northerly along Gardiners road to Sawyers Arms road, thence easterly along Sawyers Arms road to Highstead road, thence northerly along Highsted road to Claridges road thence easterly along Claridges road to Grampian road, thence northerly and easterly along Grampian road to Cavendish road. thence northerly along Cavendish road to Styx Mill road, thence easterly along Styx Mill road to North road, thence southerly along North road to Farquhar’s road, thence easterly along Farquhar's road to Grimseys road, thence southerly along Grimseys road to Winters road, thence westerly along Winters road to the County Boundary, thence in a generally westerly and southerly direction along the County Boundary to Yaldhurst road, thence westerly along Yaldhurst road to the point of commencement at the intersection of Yaldhurst and Withells roads. The area specified above, over which the Closed Fire Season has not been declared, comprises, in the main, the built-up areas of the Papanui, Harewood, and Wairarapa Ridings, and the whole of the Fendalton and Middleton Ridings of the County. Residents in this area are not required to obtain fire permits, but all burning must be carried out in accordance with the Coun out in accordance with the County By-law. Copies of the By-law are obtainable from the County Office. Residents in that part of the County in which the Cloeed Fire Season is in force must obtain a WRITTEN fire permit for any burning in the open.
