Northcote
Sir,—“Ratepayer Since First War” hit the nail on the head when he said that many people are confused as to where Northcote really is. In my earlier letter I cited causes of confusion. I could also cite examples of confusion as to what constitutes North Papanui, an area extending roughly south and north from Sawyers Arms road to Daniels road. On further consideration, I would retract the statement in my earlier letter that Northcote is not the name of a district. It obviously is. but its boundaries need defining. How far north and south does it extend? Does it include areas east of the Main North road? What constitutes Styx? Recent housing and commercial expansion in all these areas has made some rcdifinition necessary in the interests of clearness and convenience.— Yours, etc., NORTH PAPANUI RATEPAYER.
