Townswomen’s Guilds’ Discussion (New Zealand Press Association) NAPIER, September 17. Letters from the Dominion Federation of Townswomeh’s Guilds are to be sent to the Ministers concerned after discussions on a number of social problems at the annual council meeting of the federation, which concluded in Napier today. They include opposition to the admittance of children to Court hearings; the publication of rosters for doctors on night calls on holidays and at week-ends; more liberal provisions in the smaller centres for flats for single women; an increase in import licences for overseas paper patterns; a reduction in telephone rentals to needy aged beneficiaries; and the consideration of a united effort by women’s clubs throughout. New Zealand to obtain recognition of the valuable assistance women could render to the community by jury service.
