Pipe Burst In Store In Wellington
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, September 18. Thousands of pounds worth of damage was caused when a twoinch water pipe burst in the ceiling on the second floor of the department store of James Smith. Ltd., this morning, and flooded part of the two floors below. At one stage, the water was five inches deep in tne theatrette. ■ The office staff and firemen spread dozens of salvage sheets over stock in the crockery and chinaware section on the first floor and in the manchester and dgpestic appliance department! otfethe ground floor. ®
