Bottled Crayfish Wins Approval
Local housewives will have a unique opportunity today and tomorrow of seeing a man show them how to bottle fruit. He is visiting Australian bottling expert, Mr Bill Deane, who is at present on a five weeks’ tour of New Zealand demonstrating fruit bottling and showing a television film which was recently made in Melbourne.
Mr Deane has already had large crowds at his demonstrations in Auckland and Wellington and there is no doubt that local housewives will be anxious to watch his demonstrations at Mason
Struthers today and D.I.C. tomorrow, as he will only be in Christchurch for two days before leaving for Dunedin and Invercargill. The demonstration and film will be shown at 11.30. 12.30, 1.30 and 3 p.m. Mr Dean has undertaken to answer any question on the subject of food preserving. He will have on display an interesting collection of show exhibits including a large crayfish bottled whole, in its shell, lambs’ tongues, chillies, cucumbers and other interesting bottles of preserved foods. —P.B.A.
