Well Hidden
With about four minutes to go until the final whistle, one of the balls being used in the third test match disappeared. A New Zealand back kicked for touch near the half-way line, and the ball rolled into a group of five Lions, who were sitting on the sideline. The ball did not roll out of this group again, however, and three ball boys spent the remaining few minutes hovering anxiously around the group, hoping no doubt that the ball would be produced. The obvious hiding place for the ball, and one which the ball boys dare not inspect, was under the kilt of G. H. Waddell, the Scottish utility back.
