A giant, nine-beam unit with a built-in camera provides shadowless working light in the tiled operating theatres and can be fixed in any position over the operating table. After preparing a theatre for an operation, staff wash their hands in a special scrub-up room adjacent. This room has no conventional w a s h - basins. Water faucets are turned on, and the water simply gushes on to the hands and down an inclined glass panel to a drain on the floor.
