War Veteran Honoured
Mr R. Hayes, the president of the Christchurch branch of the South African War Veterans' Association of New Zealand, has been presented by the Mayor (Mr G. Manning) with the association’s gold badge for long and outstanding service. Now 79, Mr Hayes has worked for the Christchurch branch for 20 years and has been president for six. His earlier activities with the association were in Dunedin.
