Rugby WELLINGTON SIDE BEATS AUCKLAND
20-11 Score In Hard Fought Game

Wellington completed a Rugby "double” for the season by beating Auckland. 20-11, on Saturday at Athletic Park. Earlier in the season. Wellington beat Auckland in their “away" game, 10-5. During the game, a blow was slung in the direction of S. K. Jackson’s head. Jackson, having his first introduction to senior representative Rugby, dropped where he stood, but after receiving ambulance attention was able to continue.
The game was dominated by lineouts. scrums that often followed rucks, and hard forward play. The backs had chances, but on the whole were not over-competent on the day
At the start, the visiting pack threw all of their weight into scrums, mauls and tackles, but before the end of the first spell, the fire of the Auckland forwards was spent. For Wellington tries were scored bv W. Fleming, J. H. Williams. C. W. Billing and D. G. Harker. M. Williment kicked two penalty goals and a conversion. For Auckland, L. C. Russell scored two tries, and W. A. Davies converted one and kicked a penalty goal.
