Golf GODFREY PRESSED TO WIN
Second-Round Game In Maori Tournament (New Zealana Press Association) TAUMARUNUI, Aug. 26.
In the second round of the New Zealand Maori golf championships at raumarunui today W. J. Godirey, lhe New Zealand amateur champion, had to fight all tile «a.y to beat T. Webster lOlaki). Webster was three up with five to play, and he was playing very steadily. Godfrey’s chances did not look good, but lie won the fourteenth and fifteenth, halved the sixteenth in par figures after an indiflerent drive, and then squared the match at the short seventeenth, winning on the eighteenth. The reigning champion, J. Chapman (Auckland) beat G. F. Keys iTaumarunui) at the twentieth.
