BUTTER VP BUT LAMB DOWN
Price Trends In London
(N.Z, Press Association— Copyright) LONDON, August 24.
The price of New Zealand butter rose again today and the price of New Zealand lamb fell again. Butter went up by 16s per cwt to 3925. Australian butter also increased by the same sum to 3915. This means that New Zealand butter will retail at between 4s Id and 4s 3d per lb. The average price of best quality New Zealand lamb was reduced to 18Jd per lb wholesale from 19d per lb. The reduction reflects heavy home-killed supplies and a quiet market. English lamb was even cheaper than New Zealand at 18d per lb. Market reports state that offtake is reasonably satisfactory in view of general conditions.
