Canterbury Supports League Scheme
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. August 25 Support in principle for the proposed national soccer league was given by the Canterbury association in a letter tabled at a meeting of the New Zealand Football Association tonight. The letter said: "The Canterbury Football Association has approved the proposal of a national league >n principle. A provision is that the scheme be tried initially on a provincial basis, and that the South Island should be excluded.”
