Impressive Run At Wingatui

The Callander gelding will have his first race for his new owners. Mr and Mrs J. A. White, of Balclutha, in the second Knapdale Stakes at the Eastern Southland Hunt meeting at Gore on Saturday. McGregor was ridden by R. J Skelton and finished on clear of Panam <B. N. Elair) and Swanky |<L. W. Hare). The opening two furlongs were covered in 26 2-ssec and McGregor gave the impression that he could have improved on his time of Imin Bsec for the five furlongs. The Wings (F. Henneberry) also worked on the plough and ran half a mile in 54sec, the first furlong in 12 3-ssec. A candidate for the First Knapdale Stakes, The Wings has shown speed, but she has lacked stamina. Neptona (D.'J. Anderton) dashed over three furlongs in 42 2-ssec. The Royal Chief gelding, which is trained by his Ravensbourne owner, Mr E. Prince Ermine is due to resume racing in the Mandeville Hack Handicap, the second leg] of the Gore double. Pot Luck will revert to flat racing in the President's Handicap after a successful campaign as a hurdler. Pearly Gate <G. E.
